I design and hand make beadwoven jewelry, using a variety of techniques involving linking individual beads together one at a time. I have been interested in this type of work through my grandmother's beadweaving and I have gained inspiration, advice and teaching from a wide range of artists and designers as well as native cultural sources. I have been fascinated by the Paisley Pattern throughout my craft working years and when I saw the opportunity of creating something in my present field of work, I have taken that on board enthusiastically. I love working with colour and different finishes e.g. matt, metallic, shiny, opaque etc..so I have incorporated that in these pieces. I have linked this work under Textiles as Jewellery in beadweaving not listed. I designed and hand beaded these pieces stitching/weaving together Bead by Bead a cuff and 2 sets of earrings. I use Japanese (Miyuki) delica (cylindrical) glass beads of the highest quality and Miyuki galvanized gold seed beads. For the earrings, I used Miyuki glass super duo beads, bezelled Chrystal rondelles and Swarovski bicones . I designed all the pieces based on Paisley Patterns which I have been interested in for many years.
